I have lived in Henley for 35 years with my wife and three children. Semi-retired, and now self-employed, I have spent most of my career in retail buying. I have experience of management including working with multi-national purchasing teams and have spent time working in Europe. I am passionate about sport and sporting facilities for the youth of this town. I am a football referee and have been a member of the management committee of Henley Boys and Girls Football Club for more than 20 years. Current sporting responsibilities include being Child Protection and Welfare Officer of AFC Henley and a founder member of the newly formed Henley Football Partnership. AFC Henley have played a major part in securing the playing fields by Tesco for the long-term use of the youth of this Town. I am also currently the Chairman of the HRG Communication Committee.

I have recently become involved with the HRG and have been very impressed by their commitment and hard work for Henley. I have lived in Henley all my life and have two young children. One attends Valley Road School and I am involved with the PTA there. I am a freelance Graphic Designer and Design Manager and also have a degree in architecture. As part of the HRG Communication Group I designed HRG's recent publicity material and I keep the website up to date. I am also HRG's Membership Secretary. Prior to my involvement with HRG I spent 5 years as a SOHA (South Oxfordshire Housing Association) Tenants' Forum member and was a founding member of the Henley Area SOHA Tenants' Association.

I moved to Henley with John in 1965 and we commuted to Heathrow Airport for many years. As Chairman of the Community Health Council for seven years before its demise, I have a continuing interest in Townlands Hospital and have been an active supporter in the Townlands Steering Group, aiming for redevelopment of the community hospital from its workhouse setting into the 21st century. As a past secretary of the Henley Society, I have always had the wellbeing of Henley close to my heart. I appreciate all the hard work put in by HRG Councillors and members and am pleased to help out whenever I can, including being a Garden Buddy under Liz Hodgkins' leadership.

My wife Caroline and I moved to Henley 12 years ago and joined HRG in 2002. We were so impressed by the hard work done for the town by all the HRG Councillors and members that we wanted to help the group in some way and have been involved in distributing newsletters, canvassing and fundraising activities. I am a retired engineer with 30 years experience in power station design and project management and am particularly interested in environmental projects, energy saving and traffic management. I enjoy recreational sculling. Caroline is a Garden Buddy and also helps with the Town Council’s local gardens competition. We have four adult children and six grandchildren who all enjoy visiting this wonderful town.

I am an architect with private practice experience of housing projects and, in central government, social housing policy and practice, town planning and construction industry sponsorship. I was Head of Export Promotion for the UK Construction and Water Industries and Founding Director of the Review Implementation Forum, which became the Construction Industry Board. Up until my recent retirement I worked within industry seeking ways to gain a better understanding of value in the built environment and how the industry might best optimise the value of its products for end users, the community and for its investors. I moved to Henley in 2005 from Richmond, where I supported the Lib Dems. I was so impressed by the achievements, style and work of the Henley Residents Group that I switched my allegiance. I got involved with the Henley Youth Centre project, Transforming Henley for Young People, and I am a founder member of the Henley in Transition Group. I very much enjoy the town and its people, its location, its strong identity and sense of community.

I have lived in Henley 27 years, I am married with 4 adult children, all educated locally. I retired from banking 10 years ago after 30 years and am now a full-time Thames LockKeeper. I am currently involved with the Youth Centre, the Handibus and the Talking Newspaper. I previously coached youngsters at Henley RFC for 15 years. I am passionate about Henley and its people. I follow all sports clubs in the town and wish to work closely with them to encourage young people to participate. I am a strong supporter of the "Save Townlands Hospital" movement which must be retained for the town.

I have been a member of Henley Town Council and have served on all committees. I moved to Henley in 1986 and was a founder member of the Henley Tennis Club and served as Chairman of the club for 5 years trying to obtain better tennis facilities for the town. This is something that I am keen to establish to this day. I am also committed to resolving the traffic problems in the town and I am a member on the Townlands Steering Group.
