HRG Hold AGM to Elect New Officers and Executive Committee
6th June 2007
HRG Executive Committee
HRG Exec Committee 2007 : L to R Dieter Hinke, David Clenshaw (Vice-chair), Terry Buckett MBE (Leader), Ian Reissmann (Chair) Pippa Hare (Secretary), Charles Langler, Dianne Browne (Membership Secretary).
On 6 June HRG members gathered in the Margaret Day room to hold their 2007 AGM. HRG leader Terry Buckett MBE opened the meeting by welcoming the membership and paying tribute to outgoing Chairman Allan Follett for leading the successful election campaign on May 2003 which saw HRG retain control of the town council despite the loss of some District and Town Council seats. "I'd like to thank all the candidates and membership for supporting HRG in all the work of the last year. The election success means that by 2011, HRG will have controlled Henley Town Council for 16 out of the last 20 years. We achieved so much over on Henley Town Council over the last few years: leading the Townlands campaign, grants and loans for the sports clubs such as the cricket club and Eyot boat club, Gold award in Britain in Bloom and many more".

Allan Follett reported the continuing success of HRG in increasing membership to over 130, resulting in the reelected Treasurer Bill Gibson being able to report very sound finances despite the costs of fighting the election. "HRG is more successful then ever with a buoyant membership, financial stability and a proven record of supporting the best interests of Henley and its residents" said Allan Follett.

Elections for the Officers and Executive Committee saw Terry Buckett re-elected leader and Ian Reissmann elected Chair, David Clenshaw Vice-chair, Bill Gibson Treasurer and Pippa Hare Secretary. Dianne Browne, Dieter Hinke, Charles Langler, Greg Read, Dave Smewing and Barry Wood were elected to the Executive Committee. "It's a great honour to be elected chair of HRG" said Ian Reissmann. "We need to continue to work on increasing the HRG membership so we can listen to what Henley residents want us to do". "We also need to get the membership involved in our policy development, newsletters and website", he continued "this will help the HRG councillors (Terry Buckett, Allan Follett, Bill Gibson, Liz Hodgkin, Chris Pye, Laura Pye, Barry Wood, Jeni Wood, Gill Zakss) on Henley Town Council to continue to deliver the successes that everyone in Henley wants".
