As if having one councillor in the family isn't trouble enough!
Two families are celebrating a double election success as two Pyes and two
Woods are elected HRG Councillors.
Former mayor Chris Pye will be joined by his daughter Laura who, at 18 years of
age, becomes one of the youngest councillors in the country.
Laura is looking forward to joining her dad on the council: "I really do hope I
make a difference, and that I make people proud and glad they voted for me" she
said.
"I want to carry on all the great work HRG has done over the past four years
and help take the town forward in any way I can.
"I know it's a big commitment - I've seen first hand the amount of effort my
dad has put into his role as a councillor, but I just can't wait to work
alongside him and get started."
And outgoing mayor Barry Wood is joined by his wife Jeni following their joint
success, also in the Henley South Ward. Well, they say behind every great man
is a great woman! That should make this the HRG Dream Team as Jeni steps up
beside Barry at the start of what promises to be a great four years for HRG.
