In the by-election of 30th July 2009 the result was:

Ian Reissmann (HRG) 606
William Hamilton (Cons) 531

A large turnout for a by-election showing the huge effort put into the campaign by HRG. The result is a really great win which sees a welcome return of Ian to the council.
